‘He beat me by 1 year,’ says Zverev about Alcaraz’ incredible run in the ATP rankings

Zverev is very well aware of the fact that Carlos Alcaraz has a bright future ahead.

Zverev Talks Aabout Alcaraz

Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz will face off in the final in Madrid. The German champion predicted that Carlito would have broken into the top10 by 2023. However, by his own admission, the 19-year-old “beat” Sascha’s prediction by 1 year. Carlito is already ranked no.9 and he is no.6 in the live rankings. From Monday, Alcaraz will also be ranked no.2 in the race.

After beating Tsitsipas on Saturday in the semifinal, Zverev commented:

“Nothing that surprises me, because I know how good he is. I said last year in Acapulco that by 2023 he’s going to be Top 10. He beat me by a year. There’s nothing more to say. He’s an incredible player. He’s going to be incredible.

At 19 years old now, he looks like a grown man. To be honest, there’s no limit for him.”
