Simona Halep is back in Wuhan where she will try to win her 4th title of the year. During the ritual interviews preceding the event, Simona confirmed that she feels in fine form and ready to fight.

About sexism in tennis

The Romanian was asked about her opinion on the controversy raised by Serena Williams and the possibility of an unfair treatment of women in tennis, Simona commented

“I don’t really see a difference between men’s and women’s tennis. I don’t really want to comment on this (what happened during the U.S. Open final), but everyone gets the same thing. I have been fined for smashing my racket. The umpires respect the rules and I don’t really have much to add as it feels the same for me.”

Simona joins some other top players such as Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic that also denied that men and women are treated differently.
