Carlos Ramos had a horrible evening on Saturday when he officiated the US Open final between Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka.
The umpire was insulted and badly abused by Serena Williams after he (rightly so) gave 3 code violations to the American that eventually was penalized with the loss of a full game.
Eventually, Ramos was escorted off the court after the final because the Flushing Meadows crowd booed the umpire (they always stay in court for the ceremony as they receive a gift).
And for how much money?
The shocking part is also the pittance that Carlos Ramos (a really good umpire) earned for officiating the event ($450).
Not worth it.
