It’s official: Djokovic withdraws from Madrid!

Unfortunately it is now official: Novak Djokovic will not play in Madrid due to his wrist injury.

The Serbian was meant to take the final decision today after another medical check, but that didn’t really go well.

Djokovic: I am very sorry

Nole commented “I am very sorry for the Madrid tournament and all the Spanish fans to have to pull out of the Mutua Madrid Open. I did everything possible in order to play in Madrid, which is one of the biggest events of the year, but unfortunately my right arm injury has flared up again.   Now I will take some time to recover and heal my injury, hoping I will be ready for Rome. I look forward to returning to Madrid next year.”

The Serbian started to struggle with his wrist after Indian Wells to have more and more complications during the tournament in Monte-Carlo.

Apparently Nole wasn’t able to properly train during the last week and this was the epilogue.

All the best to him!
