Swiatek World No.1

Next Monday, Iga Swiatek (20) will be the new world no.1 after Ashleigh Barty announced her shocking retirement. Barty will be pulled out from the WTA rankings next Monday, and Iga will be the new world no.1 after reaching the 3rd round in Miami.

With 5776 points, Swiatek has an unassailable lead over Barbora Krejcikova and Paula Badosa Gibert. Barbora had to withdraw from the Miami Open with injury, while Paula has not enough points to snatch the world no.1 rank from Iga even if she wins the title in Miami.

These are the latest WTA live rankings.

Wta Live RankingsSwiatek was celebrated on court after she defeated Viktorija Golubic 6-2 6-0. Then she added:

“After Indian Wells, it became my goal. It’s pretty weird for it to be my goal for two days and it may actually happen that quick.”
