Francesca Schiavone retires from tennis

The Lioness announces her retirement. She amazed the tennis world after she conquered the French Open back in 2010.

Francesca Schiavone (38) will not be remembered as one of the greatest players in tennis history, but she wrote an unforgettable page of our beloved tennis when in 2010 she conquered the Roland Garros after a fantastic run.

The former world no.4 announces her retirement from professional tennis on Wednesday.

When announcing her retirement, the Italian commented

“When I was 18 years old, I had two dreams. The first one was to win Roland Garros, and the second one was to become Top 10 in the world. And I completed them, so I’m very, very happy, and lucky.”

After 20 years of career and life, I have new dreams.  The heart, I think, needs dreams every day of the life.”

Currently ranked no.454, Francesca has won 8 careers title.
