Stefanos Tsitsipas is in the quarterfinals in Rotterdam after a convincing win over Ilya Ivashka. However, Tsitsipas hit the headlines this week for the presence of Thomas Enqvist during his training.
It was impossible not to notice the absence of his father Apostolos, who has been his coach since the beginning of his career.
During the press conference that followed his third-round match, Stefanos Tsitsipas explained what it is going on in his coaching team. Stefanos clarified that Thomas is an addition to his team and his father Apostolos is still his coach. However, the world number 4 could not further elaborate on when Enqvist will be with him in the following months. The impression is that the Swede is working with Stefanos on a trial basis.
“Enqvist is an addition to my team, that’s what he is. It’s important to have a person like him on my team,” said Tsitsipas.
