Naomi Osaka was hoping to have a good run at the recent Australian Open where she was defending champion. Unfortunately, the Japanese sensation ended her campaign as early as in the third round when she lost to Amanda Anisimova in 3 sets.
Naomi had also another setback after the organization of the Australian Open did not allow her to wear a TAG Heuer watch on court. Osaka is the brand ambassador of the popular brand.
Naomi couldn’t flaunt her watch in Melbourne because of its smart features. TAG Heuer’s CEO Frédéric Arnault revealed:
“We tried, but she cannot wear any connected watch while playing professionally, because players aren’t allowed to communicate with others off the court during a match. And this would be considered a communication device.”

Until now, during this year Naomi owns an overall 5-1 match record. Naomi Osaka’s best result of this season was getting to the semifinal in Melbourne.
