Why McEnroe disagrees with Raducanu’s coaching decisions

John Mcenroe is not a hundred percent convinced about some choices made by Emma Raducanu

John Mcenore On Emma Raducanu's Choices

Emma Raducanu is still trying to find continuity after winning that incredible US Open title starting from the qualification. The British sensation hit the headlines after she decided to part ways with her coach Andrew Richardson, who partnered with her during the American major.

In the following tournament, Emma did not shine as many were expecting. Even if she hired an excellent coach, Torben Beltz, tennis legend John McEnroe questioned Emma’s decision to make changes in her team after winning such a prestigious title.

It’s not the first time Raducanu has changed her coach after good results. Previously she reached the second week in Wimbledon, starting the tournaments from the main draw only thanks to a wild card. After the Championships, she decided to part ways with her coach Nigel Sears.

John commented:

“It was overwhelming for her at Wimbledon and then she had this magical run [at the US Open]. I don’t know why she then decided to change coaches… you would think if a coach took her to the US Open Championship that you wouldn’t say that I need a new coach.
