Stefanos Tsitsipas and Novak Djokovic are usually on good terms, but it seems as the Greek player is not pleased with the world no.1 right now.
Novak Djokovic has been trying to play the Australian Open using loopholes without being vaccinated. While it is not clear if Nole will make it, some other players do not seem to be happy with him. In fact, some were reluctant to be vaccinated, but they decided to take the jabs to compete in Australia.
During a recent interview with WIO News, Stefanos commented:
“The stats say 98 per cent of players have been vaccinated and did what they had to do in order to come and perform and play in Australia.
“One side of it is, yeah we’ve all followed the protocols in order to compete in Australia, we’ve been very disciplined in that part. The other side, I’d say that it kind of seems like not everyone is playing by the rules of how Tennis Australia and the government have been putting things.
A very small group chose to follow their own way and it kind of makes the majority look like they’re all fools or something.
No one would have really thought I could come to Australia unvaccinated and not having to follow the protocols that they gave me, which takes a lot of daring to do, and putting a Grand Slam at risk. I don’t think many players could do that.
I chose to go and be 100 percent ready for whatever was to come and not having to think about anything else. For me, it worked one way, for Novak, it worked another way. That doesn’t really mean that my way is the right one and his way is the wrong one, it’s just each person’s perception about it.”

Currently ranked no.4, the Greek played his last match on the 5th of January when he had to retire when playing against world no.23 Nikoloz Basilashvili in the round robin and the scoreline was 4-1 .
Currently, during this season Tsitsipas has achieved a compiled 1-1 match record.
Novak Djokovic in 2022
LWWWLWLWWW At the moment ranked no.1, Novak played his last match on the 3rd of December 2021 when he overcame world no.29 Marin Cilic 6-4 6-2 in the Rubber 2 of the Davis Cup (draw).
Until now, during this year Djokovic has managed to achieve a composed 0-0 record.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Novak Djokovic clashed against each other 8 times. Their record is 6-2 for Djokovic. The last time they played each other, Novak Djokovic won 6-7(6) 2-6 6-3 6-2 6-4 in the final in Paris (French Open) in June 2021.
