Gael Monfils is finally back to winning an ATP title and that happened thanks to the support of his wife Elina Svitolina. The Frenchman was in fantastic form in 2020, right before the coronavirus outbreak. At that time, Gael won the tournaments in Montpelier and Rotterdam, playing great tennis. Unfortunately, something broke during the pandemic, and Monfils could not win a single match for one year.
Luckily, the entertaining Frenchman started the new season in the best possible way after winning this tournament in Adelaide. Gael was pretty gracious during his speech thanking his wife for all the support.

At the moment ranked no.21, Monfils played his last match on the 9th of January when he overcame world no.29 Karen Khachanov 6-4 6-4 in the final in Adelaide to win his 5th career title.
