Berdych and Tsonga crash out in Indian Wells

We have a couple of important upsets in Indian Wells.

Berdych

Tomas had a surprise loss against world no. 53 Bautista-Agut. The Spaniard is always a question mark as he can pull out a great performance with just everybody and his ranking doesn’t reflect his potential.

The big surprise came also because Berdych won the first set and he looked to be on the course to win the match in straight sets. The match ended 4-6 6-2 6-4. Match Stats

This is a huge blow from Tomas that had to defend 360 points as he reached the semi-final last year in Indian Wells. This means that we will be overtaken by Federer is the Swiss reaches another (plausible) semi-final this year.

Tsonga

Tough luck also for Jo-Wilfred Tsonga. The Frenchman had a dreadful match against his compatriot Julien Benneteau. Jo was broken in the very first game of the match to then break back in the following game. Then the world no.10 surrendered his service in the 7th game of the 1 set (4-3) and in the first game of the 2nd set. The final result was 6-4 6-4.
