Super Dimitrov upsets Murray to reach the Acapulco final

Finally Grigor Dimitrov beats Andy Murray!

This was the 4th time that the Bulgarian had to face Andy Murray and till now he hasn’t managed to win a single set against the Wimbledon champion.

The match didn’t start well for Dimitrov that was the clear underdog in the first set. The second set was a different story and th key moment was when the Bulgarian played a great tiebreak to bring everything to the decider.

In the third set Dimitrov was the better player. He broke Murray in the very first game and he had the upper hand for the entire set till the very end of it. The Bulgarian melted down only when he was serving for the math (5-4) to face another tiebreak. Once again Grigor played a great breaker (Murray was dead tired) to win 7-3. The match ended at 2.30 in the morning!

Dimitrov. I wanted to win badly

“At the moment it feels like the best win of my career,” said Grigor “I always thought Andy was an unbelievable player. We all know how he competes. I was really happy with how I played today. I wanted to win badly. He doesn’t give up easily, but I’ll take that win in two tie-breaks.”

The final vs. Anderson

Dimitrov will play the final against Anderson that has defeated Dolgopolov 6-1 5-7 6-4. Head to head is 3-1 for Dimitrov.
