There is some more misery for Sam Querrey on the home soil.
Now ranked world no.57, Sam has lost the last 4 matches in USA: 2 Davis Cup ties, the opener in Memphis and now in Delray Beach.
Sam had a good start with Feliciano to win the opening set 6-4. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough and the American surrendered his serve twice in the 2nd and 3rd set without being able to break Feliciano anymore.
Eventually the match ended after 1 hour and 34 minutes with the American being broken 5 times!
Feiliciano Lopez will play the second round against word no. 70 Adrian Mannarino that has defeated Jack Sock 6-4 6-2.
