Emma Raducanu surprised her tennis fans when she announced the decision to part ways with her coach just a couple of weeks after winning the US Open title. The new British sensation stressed that she wanted to partner with a coach who has good experience at the WTA level. Andrew Richardson coached Emma during the US Open, but they had only a short-term deal.

According to the Telegraph, Emma Raducanu is close to hiring the former coach of Li Na and Justine Henin, Carlos Rodriguez. The Argentine helped Justine win 7 Grand Slam titles: 4 Rolland Garros, 2 US Open, and 1 Australian Open.

In the meantime, Emma is temporarily coached by Jeremy Bates in Indian Wells. “Jeremy is part of women’s tennis at the LTA so while he’s here he’s helping me out,” said Emma.
