Richard is having a very smooth tournament to dismiss two compatriots without many problems. In the first match the world no.9 conceded only 4 games to Paul Mathieu (6-1 6-3) and now it took just 70 minutes to dismiss the qualifier and world no.249 Albano Olivetti 6-4 6-2. (see stats)

The Frenchman will take on world no. 21 Jerzy Janowicz that has also beaten two Frenchman on his path to the semifinal. In the first match he defeated Mannarino 7-6 (2) 6-3 and in the quarters he has conceded 6 games to Roger-Vasselin (6-2 6-4).
Jerzy said after the match“It was a tough match. I know Edouard very well from the tour and I knew that I had to be very good on my serve and aggressive on my returns to have a chance. That was the plan and today it worked.
“Gasquet will be a very difficult opponent. I know he is playing very, very well.”
