Genie Bouchard wins incredible fight vs. Razzano in the 2nd Round in Melbourne

Another day another fight.  Genie Bouchard struggled a lot to dismiss world no.100 Virgine Razzano in Melbourne.

The Canadian didn’t have many problems in the first set (35 minutes), but the second one was damn tough (90 minutes)! The key point in the second set was when Genie managed to rally when she was 2 breaks down (1-4). Eventually Genie found the strength to overcome Razzano only 12-10 at the tiebreak.

Genie: It was a kind of crazy

Bouchard commented “It was kind of crazy,” Bouchard said of the second set when she needed all of her energy to prevail. It became just mental and I just had to fight. I’m happy I pulled through in the end. We had some crazy points.

She played some really good points, too, on my match points,”

Bouchard will play the next match against Lauren Davis.
