Nadal beats Rosol in Doha after wasting 4 match points!

Rafael Nadal had a tricky task in the first match of the season as he played a guy that upset him a couple of season ago in Wimbledon: Lukas Rosol.

Eventually Rafa managed to win this match in straight sets, but it wasn’t easy at all. In fact, after winning the first set 6-3 Rafa had to recover a break down in the second and Rosol failed to grab the set when he was serving on a 5-4 scoreline.

In the tiebreak Rafa managed to win the match only after converting his 5th match point. (match stats).

Nadal: I do not take revenges

Off course everybody asked to Rafa about the satisfaction of taking his revenge after the Wimbledon upset “I never take revenge,” said the Spaniard. “Thinking about revenge is a bad way to start a match, in my opinion.

“You have to start calm and with the mind very open to analyse what’s going on in the match.

“I was a little bit nervous. I didn’t have a great memory of the last match against him. After that I hadn’t played for almost eight months, so it was a bad feeling.”

The world no.1 will face Kamke in the second round. This will be the first match between these two.
