Incredible: 16 years old Konjuh beats seed no.1 Roberta Vinci in Auckland

We knew that Ana Konjuh was a player to watch this year… but that was a bit early.

The 16 years old has won 2 slams (Australian Open and US Open) and she was runner up in Wimbledon and at the French Open to give lots of hopes for 2014.

She was rather unlucky to play the seed no.1 in Auckland in her first official match in the WTA circuit.

You know what? The unlucky one was Roberta Vinci!

The Italian was taken completely off guard as Ana managed to recover a 1-0 set deficit to finally win 3-6 6-4 6-2.

Ana: My Mother was going crazy!

“It was a great experience – it was a great match and I hope I’ll have a few more like this in the future. I’m just really happy to be here and have a chance to play with these great players.”

Talking about her family Ana said “my mom was going crazy! “

The youngster will play Lauren Davis in the second round.

Mind Blowing!
