Naomi Osaka will be back to Cincinnati competitions after missing playing a WTA event for 3 months. The Japanese sensation was devastated to learn that the deadly earthquake struck Haiti, her father’s country, and she decided to pledge the entire prize money she will win in Cincinnati to help the Haitians.
Naomi Osaka posted the following message:
“Really hurts to see all the devastation that’s going on in Haiti, and I feel like we really can’t catch a break. I’m about to play a tournament this week and I’ll give all the prize money to relief efforts for Haiti. I know our ancestors’ blood is strong we’ll keep rising.”
Naomi is seeded number 2 in Cincinnati and she will commence her run from the second round. She is expected to clash against Coco Gauff in her opening match.
