A bad blow for the Belgian tennis.
The organisation had to bow after 3 years as organizing the tournament became too expensive and last year the tournament was badly hit by poor weather (so there was not much crowd participating).

The tournament commented ”the current economic context and the ever-increasing investments to meet the demands of the WTA for the Premier label made it a difficult, near impossible task.”
The tournament was scheduled 1 week before the Roland Garros and it drew gig names such as Agnieszka Radwanska, Caroline Wozniacki and Marion Bartoli.
The 2013 champion was Kaia Kanepi.
