Tony Roche offers coaching to Tomic

Time for changing or finding a new coach for the tennis pros.

Bernard Tomic is not really well positioned in terms of coaches. In fact the young Australian doesn’t have any as his father (and coach) has been banned for assaulting his tennis partner.

So Tony Roche offered his services ”I just offered that if he was stuck he was very welcome with us up here.

I know they’ve just relocated to Melbourne, and obviously they’ve got very good facilities down there, but he can come up here any time. To me he’s a big-match player and he likes that stage, and you can’t coach that—you’ve either got that or you haven’t, and he’s lucky that he’s got that.”

Tony had also a good point to add ”It’s very important for him to get the right, but if he doesn’t come up with somebody during this Australian season that Pat and Josh and Lleyton and myself are all there to help him, and it’d be good if he could feel like he’s in the Davis Cup environment.

“I’d like to see him use us to help him through this period until he gets somebody.” He added

Tomic is now ranked world no.51 and is struggling to make that decisive leap to join the very best of the sport. A good coach would be just essential for him.
