“I can beat him” – Shapovalov not scared by Djokovic despite horrible H2H stats

This is the reason why Denis Shapovalov thinks that he can beat Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final despite having a 0-6 win-loss record against the world number 1

Denis Shapovalov About Facing Djokovic

Denis Shapovalov is going to play his first Wimbledon semifinal against the great Novak Djokovic. The Canadian sensation is playing great tennis, and it is more and more clear that he is extremely comfortable competing on grass.

Nevertheless, facing Novak Djokovic is a huge ordeal. When asked to comment about his impending semi-final, Denis revealed that he is not scared about facing Djokovic and thinks that he has the tennis to beat him.

Denis commented:

“We’ve played a couple of times. Obviously, he’s gotten the better of me. But the last couple of times that we’ve played, it’s been really, really tight. I’m feeling really good. I’m feeling great physically and tennis-wise.

Obviously, he’s been playing really well. It’s definitely a tough battle ahead of me. Like I said, when you walk out on that match, the score is 0-0. It’s a tennis match. Anything can happen.

I’m going to fight for every point and believe in myself. I do believe that I have the game to beat him and the game to win that match.”
