Serena Williams and Agnieszka Radwanska to fight in Beijing semifinal

We have the best possible semifinal in the top part of the draw in Beijing as seed no.1 Serena Williams will take on seed no.3 Agnieszka Radwanska

Serena

The world no.1 has beaten all her opponents in straight sets in China and we are talking about big names such as Elena Vesnina, Francesca Schiavone, Maria Kirilenko and now Caroline Wozniacki.

The match against the Dane was rather smooth for Serena that got a stunning 6-1 4-0 lead in no time. Then Caroline managed to somewhat get back in the game, but that was far too late. The match ended after 76 minutes  with Serena scoring 60 points vs. Caroline’s 42. Match Stats

Agnieszka

Radwanska had a much closer encounter in the quarters against world no. 9 Angelique Kerber. After getting an early 5-1 lead Agnieszka had to cope with a regenerated Kerber that managed to win 4 consecutive games to the tiebreak.  The Pole managed to save 4 set points (!!!) to then win the breaker the first time asking at 7.

In the second set Agnieszka won the decisive break in the 7th game to win 6-6-4.

Williams – Radwanska head to head

H2H is 6-0 for Serena that so far has conceded only a set to the Pole.  But the last match was a very close encounter.
