The world no.1 is doing everything he can to hold on his ranking. The situation looks desperate as it is quite likely that Rafa will reach the final (so as to be the new world no.1)… but… still!
The Match
The match against Fernando Verdasco was rather tricky with the Spaniard managing to stay with the Serb as much as he could. In the first set, after an exchange of breaks, Nole won the decisive break in the 12th game to win the opener. IN the second set Fernando broke Nole twice, but the Serb gave the same treatment in the decider to finally win 7-5 2-6 6-2.
Next vs. Querrey
