Tsonga is upset by Dodig in Tokyo

This is no good for Tsonga.

The Frenchman was seed no.2 in Tokyo to have a great opportunity to grab some important points as most of the top players were playing in the other 500 ATP in Beijing. Unfortunately he didn’t have a great tournament.

Jo crashes out in the second round to world no. 34 Ivan Dodig in 1 hour and 37 minutes. There were 2 key factors in this match.  In the first set Jo dropped his serve on the only break point he conceded to Dodig. In the 2nd set he didn’t manage to convert any of the 3 break points conceded. Match Stats

Tsonga: he can be Top 10 for sure

The Frenchman was rather impressed by his opponent to comment “If he plays like that he can be Top 10 for sure.  I have to play matches, if I am to come back to my best. My movement was not perfect and maybe I took a little longer to get into the match, but he played a good match.”

Dodig v. Nieminem

Ivan will play Jarkko Nieminem in the third round. Head to head is 1-0 for Dodig.
