Berdych was the first one to qualify. Leading most of the match, he lost a few important points that let Gilles Simon to win the first tie break with the strong support of the crowd.

Funny enough at 5-4 30-40, Simon could have broken Berdych to be back at 5-5 if he had kept a challenge on a wrong call. Instead Berdych came back to deuce before winning the match on his first match point! He might learn his lesson and remember to always keep one challenge for ultimate use!
