WTA Beijing draw: Analysis and preview

We have a great line up at the China Open.

With the exception of an injured Maria Sharapova, all top players will participate to the event.

Serena the favorite

The hot favourite for the title is definitely Serena also because Vika Azarenka is struggling with an illness, and she might be not at the top of her form.

Bouchard

Super hot Gene Bouchard is playing amazing tennis, and even if she will come from the qualifications, she is expected to be a horrible floater for the rest of the pack. The only question mark is how tired is she after a very tough tournament in Tokyo where she lost in 3 sets (and 3 hours!) to a very fit Venus Williams.

Venus

Venus has played an incredible tennis in Tokyo to lose in the quarters against an in-form Petra Kvitova. The former world no.1 has impressed a lot especially after beating Genie Bouchard in the quarters, and it seems that she is close to her best tennis. In addition Venus had a bye (alias 1 day more to rest). The American is expected to play Wimbledon runner-up Sabine Lisicki that has to play against a qualifier in the first round. Head to head is 1-1.

Quarter Prediction

Serena – Stephens -> would be fun… again!
KerberRadwanska -> Agnieszka can avenge the recent loss in Tokyo)
Kvitova – Venus  ->another possible revenge from Tokyo
Azarenka – Jankovic -> if Vika is fit

Game on!
