It’s Nole’s time!

For the past few years the discussion was if the real world nr1 was Nadal or Federer. Now the discussion is if and when Djokovic will become world nr.1.
He won 32 consecutive matches in 2011 (still un-defeated) and is aiming at the John McEnroe record of a 42-0 start in 1984.
Nole’s domination comes from a much improved fitness (a new diet), a really solid tennis and the application of perfect strategies.
Yesterday the king of clay looked dismayed. Djokovic was no hurt at all by Nadal’s trademark strategy (cross court on the opponent backhand) and he was able to do something that Federer can’t do: find Nadal’s backhand.
Nole demonstrated also to have drammatically improved from a mental point of view. After a perfect start (4-0 in the opener) he find himself drawing 5-5 with Nadal jumping all over the court and all the home fans cheering at him. Djokovic did not lose any faith and he won the first set 7-5.
In the second set there was the expected reaction of Nadal (the day before he was in a similar situation with Federer and he got a 4-0 lead in the second set). But Djokovic was too solid and he managed to get the second set 6-4.
This is the third consecutive final that Nadal lost with the Serb and the most painful one.
When the Serb will become world nr.1?
