Tsonga and Simon to play for Metz title

We have the perfect final in Metz as the 2 top seeded Frenchmen will clash for the title.

The path to the semifinal was a bit different. In fact, Tsonga was coming back from an injury to struggle to find his best tennis and win the last two matches against Florian Mayer and Tobias Kamke in 3 sets. On the other side Gilles Simon didn’t drop a single set to beat in Kenny De Schepper, Sam Querrey and Nicholas Mahut all in straight sets.

Simon:  I think that today was a pretty solid match.

Gilles was rather happy about his performance against an always dangerous Mahut, a tricky guy especially on hard indoor courts “Today was a very good match for me. I broke him early and was solid from the baseline. I’ve been practicing for a month before coming back here. I needed to do that and I think that today was a pretty solid match.” said the Frenchman.

Tsonga vs. Simon
Head to head is 5-2 for Jo, 3-0 on hard courts. Normally Tsonga would be the super favourite, but Simon is playing a very solid tennis and Jo is not 100% confident right now.
