ATP Rankings: Rafa inches away from Djokovic, Federer 1 place up

The 2013 US Open was the main factor for some changing I this week rankings. Let’s analyse it.

Rafa

The King of Clay and Hard Court is now only 120pts shy from overtaking Novak Djokovic and become the deserving world no.1 Winning the US Open gave to Rafa 2000pts while Nole has just confirmed last year’s US Open result when he was also the runner-up (to Murray).

Roger

Federer is really not enjoying this year to lose in the US Open  4th round to Tommy Robredo in 3 painful sets. By the way, the Maestro still managed to overtake Del Potro that was badly upset in the 2nd round by Lleyton Hewitt.

Robredo

Tommy was one of the surprises of the tournament to beat King Roger and reach the quarters and lose to (everybody’s) nemesis Rafael Nadal.

Regarding the other players, banned Cilic keeps on slumping (now world no.24) and David Ferrer is now only 210pts from overtaking Andy Murray!
