Bouchard loses with honour against Kerber in New York

The WTA circuit seems to be ready for a new tennis star.

19 years old Genie Bouchard lost in the second round of the US Open against world no.9 Angelique Kerber, but she has proved she can trade rallies with the best of the business.

The Canadian has often dominated the rallies against Angelique to win the second set 6-2 after losing the opener 6-4. Eventually Genie lost 6-3 in the decider, but she made it clear she is ready for a great breakthrough.

Genie won 96 points vs. Kerber’s 98 and she blasted 41 winners (43 unforced errors). Match Stats.

Bouchard is now ranked world no59, but we can definitely expect her to break into the top 20 within 1 year. Let’s see it!
