WTA Rankings: Simona Halep in the top 20, Kvitova keeps on falling.

Last week was another good one for Simona Halep.

The upcoming Romanian is getting better and better to win her 4th tournament of the season in New Haven. Obviously we are not talking about winning a slam, but Simona’s tennis and confidence is getting higher and higher.

So the 21 years old climbed 4 places to now be ranked world no.19 and that is a huge progress from the 47th rank she had at the beginning of the year.

The other New Haven finalist, Petra Kvitova, is not smiling. The Czech keeps on falling to now lose 1 place and being ranked world no.10.

Regarding the other positions, Sam Stosur climbed a couple of places to be ranked world no.11.

The next important updates will come in a couple of weeks’ time after the US Open. Simona Halep had a good draw and she might be the surprise of the tournament. We would not be surprised if she gets to the final 4.
