Naomi Osaka is now preparing for the European clay-court season. However, the Japanese sensation has already stated that Tokyo’s upcoming Olympics is one of the most important events of the season. Naomi Osaka will probably be one of the Olympics’ key faces because of her huge popularity in Japan.

In a recent video published by the ITF, the world number 2 talks about what it means for her to watch and compete in the Olympics.

“When I think of the Olympics, what comes to mind is, of course, the opening ceremony, just seeing all the people being so happy. My like most outstanding Olympic memory is just watching Bolt run. He’s my favorite athlete and for my whole family. My dad really loves his running so we would just like to watch him.”

About a gold medal

Then Naomi talked about her dream about winning a gold medal:

“I have allowed myself to dream that dream of winning a gold medal but, it wouldn’t be easy and for me. I tend to put my goals realistically and also short term so it hasn’t you know it’s not even July yet so I’m going to chill.

I think what I’m most looking forward to being in Tokyo during the Olympics is the atmosphere. It’s definitely going to be one of a kind, and you know it’s something that’s gonna be etched into my memory forever.”
