ATP MONTE CARLO. Why Djokovic remained so impressed by Jannik Sinner

Novak Djokovic explains why he believes that the Jannik Sinner is already great player

Djokovic And Sinner

Novak Djokovic has always stated that Jannik Sinner is among the most interesting players of the next generation. The Serbian had an easy ride against Jannik Sinner in the second round of the ATP 1000 in Monte Carlo when he won with a straightforward 6-4 6-2  scoreline.

Nevertheless, that didn’t change Novak Djokovic’s idea about the young Italian. The world no. 1 confirmed that he is impressed by the professionalism and shot-making of the world number 22.

“I think he’s a very talented player. He has established already himself at I feel like high level of the men’s game, playing Masters finals, winning already a couple of tournaments, for his age,” said Djokovic.

“I think what impresses me the most is his professionalism, his dedication to the everyday routines that he has to endure in order to play at such a high level.”

Novak Djokovic added that he is also impressed by the fact that Jannik Sinner can perform week-in week-out. Usually, a big problem with young players is that they are quite inconsistent during the year. That is not the case of Jannik. The Serbian legend added:

“I think this is why the consistency of his results is there. For a young player like this, what we normally would see and expect is he got a couple of good weeks here and there, but the consistency is not there until the young player matures.”

Next versus Daniel Evans

Novak Djokovic will fight against the world no.33 Daniel Evans in the 3rd round. They have never played each other so far in top tournaments.
