Serena Williams beats Radwanska to reach the final in Toronto

Serena reaches the final in Toronto! Well that’s not a surprise as it was widely expected, but at least this time we had a match.

Serena had to battle a lot especially in the opening set to recover twice from a break down against a very good Radwanska. The second set wasn’t easy as well with Serena forced to recover form a 1-3 deficit to then win the set 6-4. Eventually there was not much between these two as Serena won just 6 points more than Agnieszka (81 vs. 75). Match Stats

Serena: I didn’t play my game

“I don’t think I was playing as aggressive as I needed to play. I let her play her game, which is what she wanted to do, but I wasn’t able to play my game as much.” Commented the American.

Agnieszka: She plays unbelievably in important moments

“This is what makes her number one in the world, playing unbelievable in very important moments and just very powerful shots,”said the world no.4

The Final vs. Cirstea

Serena will play a surprising Sorana Cirstea in the final ( 6-1 7-6 on Na Li). Head to head is 2-0 for Serena, and in both encounters Cirstea has been badly trashed. Details.
