Maria Sakkari is happy that with Stefanos Tsitsipas she is making the Greek Community proud with her results. Maria has just reached the semi-final of the Miami Open after playing a fantastic match against Naomi Osaka. The world number 25 won 6-0 6-4 in a match that lasted only 1 hour and 9 minutes.

The Olympic Dream

After the encounter, Maria was extremely pleased with her match to reveal her next steps:

“We are looking forward to playing I think the Olympics together. I think he’s proud of me. I’m very proud of him. I look after him because he’s a great — he’s a great athlete and a great player. We have a great relationship and our families are very close. I think we are making Greece proud.”

Maria and Stefanos used to play together at the Hompan Cup. It is plausible that they are going to play the mixed doubles at the Olympic Games in Tokyo for the happiness of the Greek community.
