Super Del Potro wins two matches in the same day in Washington

It’s a great Del Potro!

In a rain-delay-ridden tournament in Washington, the Argentine had to cope with two matches with two dangerous opponents.  Besidis winning both matches, the good point for Delpo is that he didn’t have to spend much time as both were quick affairs.

In the first match it took only 70 minutes for Juan Martin to win 6-1 7-5 breaking Harrison 4 times and without conceding a single break point. The difference between the two was “bigger than the result” with Delpo winning 72 points vs. Harrison’s 45. Match stats

The second match vs Bernard Tomic was quite similar. Delpo broke Tomic also 4 times to concede 1 break and wrap up the match in 69 minutes. Match stats

Delpo: A very good day

Delpo will play boom boom Anderson in the quarters. The South African had also to play a couple of match defeating world no. 159 James Duckworth 6-3 3-6 6-4 first and Mardy Fish later 7-6 (2) 6-1.
