Tsitsipas reveals that he is still struggling to accept his loss to Medvedev at the Australian Open

Stefanos Tsitsipas had great hopes to win his first Australian Open in February, but Daniil Medvedev shattered his dream in the final 4. Tsitsipas was blown away by the world no.3 in 3 sets 6-4 6-2 7-5 in a match that lasted just 2 hours and 9 minutes. After this encounter, the head to head is 6-1 for the Russian no.1

During a recent interview with Greek outlet DownTown, Stefanos commented:

“I am still a little upset, to be honest. I haven’t forgotten about it, it still lingers in the back of my mind. The important thing is to move on from this situation and see it as a positive moment in my career, as I try to achieve bigger things day by day. I’ve set some big goals and I know I will have opportunities to do something better next time.”

Stefanos is now in Marseille where he will try to defend his title. Tsitsipas was the champion of this ATP250 for the last 2 years. He will face Lucas Pouille in the opening match and he is expected to win in 2 sets.
