Novak Djokovic to play the Miami Open despite the injury suffered at the Australian Open

Novak Djokovic gives great news via his official site to confirm he will play in Miami (22nd of March) before switching to clay in Monte Carlo (12ht of April), and play the home tournament in Belgrade (19th of April).

The injury concerns

It seemed as if the world no.1 would have taken a prolonged stop after conquering his 18th slam at the Australian Open. In Melbourne, Djokovic had to overcome an abdominal injury with a 2.5 cm tear. Novak’s coach Goran Ivanisevic said that they would take no risks and it seemed that Djokovic was not on his way to Florida. Novak’s “other” coach Marjan Vajda also talked about a reduced schedule. However, Novak will bid for his 7th MIami Open.
