Eugenie Bouchard is ready to get back to competitions after a rather anonymous start of her 2021. Genie failed to qualify for the Australian Open and that meant that she had to skip the entire Australian swing with many tournaments on the line. Therefore, after 2 months in the new season, Genie has played just 2 matches and hence she is more than ready to go for more.
Lyon entry list and draw
Being ranked just 142, Genie was on the qualifying entry list in Lyon. However, the organization granted her a wildcard to have direct access to the main draw and join the likes of Cori Gauff, Kristina Mladenovic and Camila Giorgi. The event will be played from the 1st of March and the defending champion is Sofia Kenin that last year defeated Anna-Lena Friedsam 6-2 4-6 6-4 (highlights).
