WTA RANKINGS. Simona Halep increases her lead over Wozniacki. Bertens, Sabalenka, Anisimova at career high

Halep is more and more the leader of the WTA rankings while some of the most interesting players keep on rising.

Simona Halep may not have won the tournament in Cincinnati after she reached the final for the second consecutive year, but after her latest run, she consolidated her leadership in the WTA rankings. Currently, Simona has a more than 2000 points lead over the world no.2 Caroline Wozniacki.

Bertens

Kiki had an outstanding week in Cincinnati after she clinched the title following prestigious wins over top players such as Wozniacki, Svitolina, Kvitova, and Halep in the final. After this run, Kiki gains 4 places in the rankings to be the new world no.13 (career high).

Sabalenka

“Full metal jacket” Aryna Sabalenka reached the semifinal in Cincinnati playing some of her best tennis. The Belarussian goes 9 places up to be ranked no.25 (career high and going for more).

Anisimova

At 16 years of age, Amanda had another fantastic run in Cincinnati where she reached the 3rd round. The teenager goes 36 places up to be ranked no. 137 in the world (career high). She is ready to break in the top100 if she has a good run at the upcoming US Open where she was granted a wildcard.
