Not a good start for Roger and Tommy.
Federer and Haas are great friend and they played last year’s single final here in Halle, so they decided to give it a try in doubles. Well that didn’t really work as they have been defeated in their opener by Melzer and Petzschner.
The difference between the two teams was that Roger and Tommy have an immense class and a wonderful friendship, but they don’t usually play doubles together.
To tell the truth it seemed as Federer and Haas were just practising on the court to get a better feel on grass.
Next Singles
Roger and Haas will now focus only on singles. They could clash against eachother in the semifinals.
