Amazing Serena Williams annihilates Sara Errani to reach the French Open final

Another day another trash!

Serena wins the semifinal conceding only 1 game to the Italian no.1. The American had so far an incredible tournament. Not considering the quarter finals when strange enough she lost a set against Kutzetsova, Serena conceded only 11 games in the other 5 matches!

The match with Sara was a sort of light practice session where Serena blasted 40 winners vs. Errani’s 2 (ouch!)  to win 52 points vs. Errani’s 16.

Serena like Evert?

In the past only Chris Evert had a couple of similar feats in the French Open semis with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Camille Benjamin in 1984 and over Françoise Dürr, 6-1, 6-0 in 1973, but then she lost both finals!

From Serena

“I started out so strong that I thought, ‘Oh, my God, I’d better stay strong,” Williams said “I knew that i had to come out and be aggressive and be ready because she’s doing to hit every ball back.”

Talking about her chances to win the final “It would mean everything to me, but to still be playing and to still be healthy after 11 years is even better, I think,

I just feel good. I had nothing to lose this whole tournament and I’m still alive and I really can’t believe it. It’s great.”

The final vs. Sharapova

Serena will play Maria in the final. Head to head is 13-2 for Serena that lost to the Russian in 2004 for the last time…The world no.1 is definitely the favorite for the title.
