Djokovic beats Haas to set up epic clash with Nadal in Paris semis

Nole managed to beat a sticky Tommy Haas in Paris. The German was having a magnificent French Open to trash Youzhny in the 4th round 6-3 6-1 6-1 and represent a big danger for the Serb.

Nole won in straight sets, but he had to battle all the way to the victory to set up an important semifinal against Rafa. The winner should eventually win the title.

If Djokovic wins the Roland Garros he will be the 8th man in tennis history to win all slams.

From Nole

After the match against Haas Nole had some thoughts about the next match vs. Rafa “Now I have a big challenge in front of me, and I’m ready for it,

I have been playing well. I know that this is the biggest challenge for me in Roland Garros, no question about it, and I’m sure that it’s going to be quite a good match.

I need that necessary intensity from the start. I need to be willing to play on top of my game throughout the whole match, because that’s what it’s going to take to win against him. It’s the small details and a few points that can decide a winner. That’s why I need to be very disciplined and focused in order to get emotionally, physically, and mentally ready for that match.”

Semis vs Rafa

Head to head is 19-15 for Rafa. 12-3 on clay for the Spaniard, but during the last 2 years the record on clay is 3-3 and Nole won the last match in Monte-Carlo. Everything can happen.
