Ferrer demolishes Robredo to reach the semifinals in Paris

Robredo had a wonderful tournament to recover 3 times a 0-2 sets deficit. Unfortunately Tommy got to this match too tired and you can’t compete against Ferrer if you are not 100%.

So the match ended after 3 super fast sets without any drama attached to it. No complain from Ferrer!

From David

The world no.5 had immediately some thoughts about his semifinal against Tsonga to comment

“I think it’s quite normal  the crowd is going to be supporting Jo. He’s French and I am very happy he’s made it that far. I’ll do everything I can to make it to the final. I have to remain focused.

“I do realise it’s not the first round of a smaller tournament. It’s a semi-final. But I’m not going to start dreaming and celebrate before it’s time. It’s one match. That’s it.”

From Tommy

A tired Robredo commented after the match “I wasn’t 100 per cent ready to fight in the match. Playing a guy like David, who is a machine, it’s very tough. So there was no match today.

I’m not sad about losing today. I just wish  I had managed to fight a bit more. It was very difficult, if not impossible.”

The semis against Tsonga

David will play Jo in the semifinal. Both players didn’t drop a set so far in the tournament. Head to head is 3-1 for David, 1-0 for the Spaniard on clay.
