Stephens upset in Dubai opener

Sloane is facing a tough reality after her feat at the Australian Open where she reached the semifinals defeating Serena Williams.

After that match against Serena, Sloane won only one match in 4 to lose to Azarenka in Melbourne semifinal, Zapolakova in the second round in Doha and now in hew opener in Dubai.

In Dubai Sloane lost to Sorana Cirstea 5-7 6-3 6-2 in 2 hours. The match wasn’t a quality one with Cirstea committing a whopping 12 double fault in 15 service games.

From Sloane

“It was a rough day, and I think she obviously played some good tennis,” the teenager said. “Every match isn’t going to go the way you want it, and obviously I got a little frustrated. Things happen, but, I mean, no need to dwell on it.”

Time to regroup and think about the next thing…
