Bianca Andreescu, Belinda Bencic, Victoria Azarenka and Dayana Yastremska are all on the entry list of the WTA500 that will take place in Adelaide soon after the Australian Open (21st of February). This is a new event that was added to give the players more chances to compete in Australia after the long quarantine.
Dayana Yastremska
It’s great to see that Andreescu is extremely keen on playing after being out from the tour for more than 1 year. The inclusion of Dayana Yastremska in the entry list is a bit of a surprise as the Ukrainian champion is currently suspended for doping. However, Dayana decided to travel anyway to Australia since she is fairly sure that the ban will be lifted. Dayana has always stated that she is clean and she was a victim of sample contamination.
