Indian Wells: Picks and preview

Next week the 2013 BNP Paribas Open Master will have his kick off in Indian Wells.

The format is the typical 96 players’ draw with the presence of all top 10 players (unless Rafa pulls out).So the top seeds are going to be: Djokovic, Federer, Murray, Ferrer, Nadal, Berdych, Del Potro and Tsonga. 

The wildcards are David Nalbandian, Tommy Robredo, James Blake, Tim Smyczek and Steve Johnson. 

The total financial commitment is a whopping $ 6,046,943 with a prize money of $ 4,330,625. 

In terms of title, among the active players Roger Federer leads the pack with 4 titles followed by Djokovic (2), Hewitt (2), Nadal (2).

The favorite

The favorite is definitely Novak Djokovic. The world no.1 as so far proved to be unbeatable to win his 17th straight match and recently reach the final in Dubai. The obvious second pick is Roger Federer that, ranked no.2, has definitely the tennis to win his 5th Indian Wells.
