After a very interesting week of tennis the winners of Dubai, Acapulco and Delray Beach strengthen their positions.
Djokovic
Nole opened up a 3745pts gap with Federer after winning in Dubai. If you consider that the Serb has also a 5100pts advantage on Murray and he can count for long time on big points earned at the Australian Open (2000pts), the WTF Finals (1500pts), Shanghai (1000pts) and the US Open (1200pts)… it’s clear he will stay world no.1 for long long time.
Nadal
The King of Clay is back and after having trashed Ferrer in the Acapulco final he closed up the gap with David. Rafa is now only 560 shy from David. Rafa should try to “rush” in order to be seeded at least no.4 for the Roland Garros. In order to do that he needs a very good Indian Wells, confirm his wins in Montecarlo, Roma, Barcelona, and have a very good Madrid. That might be complicated… but he is the King of Clay for a reason.
Gulbis
“Mad Ernests” won an incredible Delray Beach to climb 42 position in the rankings and become world no.67. It would be so nice to seeing entering the top 20…
Janowicz and Dimitrov
Thanks also to some “downgrades” two “hopes” reach a carrer high as Janowicz is now world no.24 and Dimitrov no. 31
